Dr. Cynthera McNeill inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
Cynthera McNeill, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-C, Assistant Professor (Clinical), clinical coordinator of the Adult Gerontology nurse practitioner program at Wayne State University and a healthcare provider in Detroit Michigan is the only nurse practitioner leader in Michigan recently inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) during the 2021 AANP conference. McNeill will be among 38 nurse practitioner leaders across the U.S. and Vancouver, British Columbia, chosen for the selective honor in 2021. Her FAANP application was sponsored by Wanda Gibson-Scipio, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, ATSF (Primary Sponsor) and Nancy M George, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FAANP (Secondary Sponsor)
The FAANP designation was awarded to inductees in June 2021 and the Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) will honor the 2021 inductees at a ceremony on Friday September 24th during the 2021 AANP Fall Conference in Hollywood, Florida.
The AANP established the FAANP program in 2000 to recognize NP leaders who have made outstanding contributions to health care through clinical practice, research, education, or policy. Fellows of the AANP are visionaries and, as such, hold an annual think tank to strategize about the future of nurse practitioners and health care. The new Fellows will continue to demonstrate leadership and contribute to the mission of the AANP.
