Dean Clabo recognized as 2023 Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Leader in Higher Education
College of Nursing Dean Laurie Lauzon Clabo, PhD, RN, FAAN, has been named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s 2023 Notable Leaders in Higher Education. The annual list spotlights administrators, faculty, researchers, board members and other trailblazers at Michigan institutions.
Dean Clabo was recognized for accomplishments including the development of Wayne State’s Campus Health Center and Taylor Street Primary Care Clinic, as well as her work to enhance the college’s national rankings. Under Dean Clabo’s leadership, the college’s previously unranked MSN and DNP programs are now consistently ranked among the best in the nation and second highest in Michigan by U.S. News & World Report, along with a bachelor’s program that is ranked among the top 7% in the country.
“She has transformed the College of Nursing and helped guide Wayne State through some of its most defining moments, steering pandemic policies that served as a national model for safety,” said former WSU President M.
