Understanding and Addressing Gender-Based Violence: Exploring the Intersections of Women's Mental Health, Immigrant Experiences, and Cultural Factors in Recovery and Healing

Dedicated to advancing, understanding, and eliminating gender-based violence, my program of research focuses on culture, women's mental health, help-seeking behaviors, healing, and trauma recovery. I aim to provide trauma-informed care and cognitive interventions to address cognitive distortions hindering help-seeking behaviors and promote recovery in this population. I also center on creating a supportive environment that holistically embraces cultural diversity for victims of violence.

Program of Research

My program of research focuses on gender-based violence, women's mental health, help-seeking, healing and trauma recovery, and trauma-informed care to create a supportive environment and support cultural diversity holistically for victims of violence. In this scope, I have been trying to understand better and eliminate sociocultural determinants that promote violence and hinder recovery.

In this research, I use a comprehensive research methodology that integrates mixed-methods, qualitative, and quantitative approaches to investigate the influence of culture and social context on the help-seeking and healing processes. Additionally, I center on cognitive interventions aimed at mitigating cognitive distortions that impede help-seeking behaviors.
