Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wayne State College of Nursing's 75th anniversary will now be celebrated throughout 2021, culminating in a Welcome Home celebration on Friday, September 24, 2021.
When the college was established in 1945, it was the first American college to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing that covered nursing fundamentals, medical-surgical, maternity, pediatric, psychiatric, public health, principles and methods of teaching, and fundamentals of administration. Over the last three quarters of a century, Wayne State's College of Nursing has seen many more firsts.
This milestone anniversary calls us to reflect upon the accomplishments and experiences of those who came before us. As you reflect on your association with the college over the years, please consider sharing your story, photos and videos. What made your time and association with the college special? Submit your #WarriorStrongNurse memories online. We plan to share these submissions over the next year on this website, social media posts, the fall magazine, and more!
Check back often as we add more event details and shared memories to this 75th "+1" anniversary site and, of course, be sure to mark your calendar to attend the Welcome Home celebration Friday, September 24, 2021!
Throughout the year, be sure to tag your WSU Nursing-related social media photos with @wsucon and one or all the following hashtags: #myWSUnursingstory, #WarriorStrongNurse, #WSUnursing75.
