Bio Sketch
Dr. Smolenski began his career working on a progressive/telemetry unit and quickly transitioned into the intensive care unit. Since then, he has also worked in various OR settings including electrophysiology labs, cath labs and vascular labs. Clinically, he practices as an orthopedic nurse practitioner, where he primarily works with a post-joint replacement population. His research interests surround the negative experiences felt by students within the clinical setting, including lateral violence, clinical incivility and bullying. As an educator, he strives to create an inclusive environment for all students. His courses often start with some traditional instruction to build students knowledge of a topic, followed by immersive and engaging case studies worked through in groups.
