Bio Sketch
Dr. Meghna Shukla is an instructor at the Wayne State University College of Nursing, teaching in both the baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. She received her PhD in Nursing, and MSN - Nurse Practitioner track from the WSU College of Nursing. She is a board-certified nurse practitioner, and her clinical areas of expertise are in acute care and emergency medicine, having worked extensively with chronically ill children and adolescents in metro Detroit for over a decade. Her primary interest lies in improving health outcomes and health behaviors in vulnerable communities, particularly minoritized, urban communities. Her program of research centers on examining medical mistrust in minority adolescents and emerging adults, with a special focus on those who reside in urban areas with chronic illness.
