Bio Sketch
Dr. Malinowski is a DNP-prepared nurse since 2017, being dual board certified as a family nurse practitioner and an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. Her nursing background has been in the intensive care units and the emergency department. In addition to her clinical practice, she has been teaching at the College of Nursing since 2017 in both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Dr. Malinowski's main goal is to strive to meet her students' learning needs as they transition into the nursing profession, whether that be as a novice nurse or nurse practitioner. She strives to encompass the passion for learning in a safe and stimulating environment so students can develop their critical thinking, clinical reasoning and nursing skills. Additionally, she serves on the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee to help shape and continually advance the undergraduate nursing programs. One of Dr. Malinowski's passions is working with diverse populations locally and internationally. She has participated in several health care-focused study abroad opportunities in Belize, Costa Rica and Kenya, where she provided hands-on, culturally competent care. This led her to create an interdisciplinary study abroad program (NUR 3200) at Wayne State University for students to participate in and experience diverse cultures locally and globally.
