Students with an associate degree or who have completed a hospital-based diploma program and want to further their education may consider the RN to BSN pathway. This program combines on-campus lectures from expert faculty, community-focused research in Wayne State laboratories and clinical experiences in locations throughout the Detroit area to prepare them to address health challenges facing urban populations. A current RN license is required prior to beginning coursework; however, there is no work requirement. Students are admitted annually and coursework for each cohort begins in the fall. The length of time to complete the degree is dependent on the number of transferable credits, but the program is designed to be completed in two years.
