Distance learning

The distance learning program consists of synchronous learning classes. Synchronous learning classes allow users to participate in a live videoconferencing with the traditional on-site classes from a remote site. Currently, students are located all over Michigan and Ohio and dial into class from sites in Lansing, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Marquette, and Flint.

The College of Nursing has several multimedia classrooms. These rooms allow users to participate in multipoint video conferencing sessions. Users can share their presentation materials with all participants by using the computer source or document camera. The classroom has microphones strategically placed throughout the room so that all attendants can converse seamlessly.

Distance Learning Students can make presentations, take exams, and participate in class remotely. However, there may be a few instances throughout their program where students may be required to travel to campus. Advanced notice will be given in the syllabus, and the distance learning coordinator can assist with arrangements.
