Welcome from the Dean
I would like to extend a warm welcome to you from the Wayne State University College of Nursing faculty, staff, and students.
Founded in 1945, the college is dedicated to providing the highest quality education to a diverse population of students through our B.S.N., M.S.N., Ph.D., D.N.P., and graduate certificate programs. Graduates from our college are prepared to be nurse leaders in research, education and practice.
Our location in vibrant Midtown Detroit is of mutual benefit to students, faculty and staff and the city. We affirm and demonstrate our commitment to the advancement of urban health and health promotion and to the preparation of an exceptionally talented and diverse nursing workforce, ready and able to lead in contemporary health care practice.
Partnerships with and close proximity to numerous health centers, hospitals, clinics, and community centers have helped us to build solid community partnerships that contribute to the success of our students and faculty.
Through interprofessional education, clinical care, and rigorous research generating new nursing knowledge, we are dedicated to advancing the profession of nursing and the health of our region and beyond. Our more than 10,000 alumni are a source of both pride and testament to this dedication.
