Learn more about Wayne State's degree offerings in Farmington Hills and Livonia by attending our Open House from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the WSU Oakland Center, 33737 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, 48331. Speak with Admissions, Financial Aid, Transfer Credit Evaluation and Advising to find out how you can enroll in or transfer to Wayne State in time for fall classes. Representatives from the School of Business Administration, College of Nursing and College of Engineering will be available. Degree offerings at the Oakland Center and Schoolcraft Center include: Business, MBA and GMAT Prep Course Computer Science Computer Technology Engineering Technology ADN-to-BSN for OCC Nursing graduates Information will be available about the GMAT Prep course offered by the Office of Executive and Professional Development, and students who complete this course and enroll in the School of Business Administration's graduate programs in business administration, accounting or taxation within one year of completing the prep course will receive a $100 refund on the GMAT prep course tuition.

The first step in advancing your nursing career is earning your Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The Wayne State University College of Nursing has a long record of successfully preparing students to be leaders in their field, and our graduates consistently pass the state licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) at a rate substantially higher than both the national and Michigan averages. The Oakland Community College ADN to BSN Program is designed for individuals who have received an associate degree in nursing from OCC and want to further their education with a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State. This program allows students to use their ADN credentials to receive a BSN in as little as five semesters with all classes held in Oakland County. Coursework for each cohort begins each fall semester, with the exception of the first cohort which began January 2014.
Doctoral Program Informational Meeting - PhD & DNP Nursing Programs

Two post-baccalaureate doctoral programs in nursing are offered by Wayne State University College of Nursing.The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program prepares highly competent researchers and scholars who will contribute to the body of scientific knowledge in nursing. Students in the program have opportunities to gain in-depth knowledge of nursing theories and develop skills in theory building, research methods, and in cognate disciplines bearing upon the development, transmission, and use of nursing knowledge.The Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is designed to prepare the nurse at an advanced level of nursing science. The program emphasizes the development of the student's capacity to impact the clinical setting as leaders and educators and to utilize clinical research to improve and transform health care.

Accreditation

Accreditation

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners acted at its meeting on October 10-12, 2013 to grant accreditation of the baccalaureate and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree programs in Nursing at Wayne State University for a term of 10 years, extending to December 31, 2023, and to the master's programs in nursing for a term of 5 years, extending to December 31, 2018. The next on-site evaluation for the baccalaureate and DNP programs will take place in the spring of 2023. The next on-site evaluation for the master's programs will take place in the spring of 2018.
